Friends, we’ve taken a hard look at our metrics and have decided to significantly scale back the free tier of MCB beginning April 2, 2024. (We first announced our intent Feb 12, 2024).

Since introducing our memberships, our FREE user base has doubled, making it unsustainable to support the cost. Our PRO users are taking on the cost of the thousands of free users who utilize the bulk of our resources (data processing, traffic, storage, etc.). To continue serving our members to the best of our ability, we need to focus on the community members who keep the app alive day in and day out.

This is why starting April 2, we’re trimming down the free tier, with the latest features and limitations for free vs. pro. If your photos exceed the restrictions outlined in the table below, please start consolidating your photos now to avoid service disruptions come April 2. If you subscribe to PRO NOW, you will not experience any service disruptions.

We didn’t come to the decision lightly, but we are absolutely committed to serving all the PRO users who have been paying to build and maintain MCB. Thank you all for supporting us this far and we hope that this decision allows us to speed up development to fix existing issues and bring enhancements to you at a faster pace.

    I fully appreciate how difficult this situation must have been. As someone who benefited from the free version and then made the decision to give up one of my regular guilty pleasures and invest the $10 subscription fee into my business, I am thankful I will be rewarded for that sacrifice as a paid subscriber. You guys are doing a wonderful job and have been for years! I look forward to doing more with my site now, and to seeing what it does for my business.
